Training Goals and Objectives
The goal of this course is to assist participants to:
Understand and examine the complaint review process
Understand and develop an organized investigation process
Identify and demonstrate the components of a thorough investigation
Discussion of laws, codes, and case laws revolving around the complaint process
Discussion of procedural process devised for protection for the officer and agency
Discussion of Liability issues
Discussion of laws regarding release of information, duty to report, negligent hiring, etc.
Organization of internal affairs office, forms, retention, notifications
This course is most successful when taught and received with audiences of 40 attendees or fewer.
This is a customized 2 day course. The course is designed to be conducted from 0800 to 1700 hours daily.
